Meet the team: Robey Groeneweg

Robey Groeneweg enjoys a reputation as the enthusiastic lady of the Groot Handelsgebouw. She started as an Office Manager in 2015. For the past three years, she has been working as a Commercial Consultant. “After spending a while as an Office Manager, I wanted to develop further. Some of the tasks in my present job were things I was already doing, so Commercial Consultant was a logical next step.”

“My working days are very lively.”

Jack of all trades

Although she describes her working days as a bit chaotic, she is very happy with her job. “My working days are very lively. I have contacts with potential tenants, give them tours and produce lease offers. If a tenant decides to go for the Groot Handelsgebouw, I draw up a lease and work with colleagues on making sure the premises are delivered properly. Most tenants choose the Groot Handelsgebouw because of its image, the price and of course the location.”

“I think that’s fantastic – that I was able to make them that happy with their new location.”

Happy tenants

“The contact with other people is the part of my job that I enjoy the most. Of course I need to close a good deal, but I get a lot of satisfaction from satisfied tenants. Our current tenants often pass potential tenants on to us. That’s a huge compliment. One of the most recent tenants even invited me to a lunch after we closed the deal. I think that’s fantastic – that I was able to make them that happy with their new location.”

Social

In her free time, Robey enjoys social activities such as going to concerts and festivals. In fact, she is often to be found in the Groot Handelsgebouw outside working hours. For example, on last year’s Valentine’s Day she went on a date with the elderly, organised by De Nieuwe Poort. “That’s an amazing initiative. I also like visiting Venture Café or Kleinhandel’s Kleinbiertje drinks events. There are loads of great cafes and eateries in this building too. But my favourite place in the entire building is still the roof terrace, especially the part at the back. It is so peaceful there, although it’s in the heart of the city.”
